I seriously do not understand how a person can not be a feminist
or not support gay rights.
How do you sit there, look at a person and say
"Hey, based on knowing absolutely nothing about you, I have decided that you are less than human, and therefore deserve less rights…
Well, while I agree with the first part of that sentence, being against gay rights does kinda make somebody ignorant, and in turn, a worse person (And so does not acknowledging that homosexuality IS a deviation, just not a harmful one for society, unlike, say pedophilia. Both sides of the debate tend to piss me off, except one is kinda fighting for the right thing, but at the same time not doing enough research.)
As for OP’s twisted views about how feminism has anything to do with homosexuality and that you’re either a feminist or an asshat - that is quite retarded.
Anonymous asked: the rape jokes thing: just because a lot of people make inappropriate jokes doesn't make it okay. i kinda agree with your analysis of these jokes. i like south park, I agree that offensive humor can be executed in good taste, but you have to know the difference between making racist jokes and making fun of racism. but i hear rape jokes pretty often and they're never funny and its just unnecessary. and to your point about not focusing so much on women: have you seen Jackson Katz's TED Talk?
I honestly haven’t heard any real rape jokes (or just not many of them), stuff REFERENCING it, at best/worst. (BDSM: ‘No’ means ‘Yes’, and ‘BANANA’ means ‘No’.’)
Now, I absolutely agree that there’s MANY instances where offensive humor just sucks, like people mic-trolling in games about how much they hate black people or how my mother is an obese prostitute, using her anal cavity to store one’s phallus.
However, I never see people making such a big deal out of any offensive humor that isn’t about rape (And maybe religious topics, but that mainly applies to very faithful folk.), while feminists treat it like it’s worse than getting your face melted with acid (Like I mentioned earlier, there should be much more focus on helping people like tortured females in Islamic countries, or starving children in Africa.).
Rape jokes help rapists just as much as racist jokes help the KKK (spoiler: they don’t).
I’m gonna listen to the guy whilst relaxing with some TF2, so I’ll add my opinion about that in the next reply, however I don’t exactly hold much respect for TEDxWomen, after the whole fiasco with Anita Sarkeesian, censoring comments under the excuse of “oh noez, bad kummentz” (which absolutely doesn’t explain why they disabled ratings, not to mention TED was supposed to be all about sharing different views and opinions.). And I guess the very fact they have a section specifically for the problems of females, while ignoring men is straight up retarded.
(Also, the comments on the video don’t seem too supportive, but oh well, I’ll watch and see myself.)
Anonymous asked: 1. please provide some hard evidence that these things are proven to decrease the chance of rape. and your killing a child in a car accident parallel is weak, because driving carelessly is common behavior that everyone has made the mistake of at some point, so it is forgivable when the individual commits to change. rape is not an understandable behavior that comes from carelessness. also, do you see the wrong in your comparing a rapist to someone who ACCIDENTALLY hits a child with a car?
I just did, if you don’t pass out from drinking, you will not get raped whilst passed out from drinking. It doesn’t just decrease the chance of that, it prevents it.
Now, being very drunk and being forced to have sex is a slightly different thing, where drinking less “only” (very strong sarcasm accent on ‘only’) decreases the chance of the assaulter being successful (It’s harder for them to talk you into it and if you need to escape, you’d have better motor skills to do so.).
I ain’t saying that you shouldn’t drink at all, but do so in smart amounts.
The analogy was supposed to show how you can prevent bad things in general. Not just preventing others from doing them, so it’s pretty accurate.
You could just bend the story a bit, and exchange the driver with, say, a sociopath who likes to drive children over if he has the chance to, in which case we should prevent those people from getting said chance, and report such individuals when we suspect them of such intentions.
Anonymous asked: 2. I got that statistic from the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics. Is that not reliable enough for you? 3. my point about the emasculation thing was agreeing with what you said about the rape double standard, so I don't see how you oppose this. I am saying that it is very wrong that so many men don't report being raped because of societal pressures (i.e. victim=weak=not sufficiently masculine). this pressure to prove and protect masculinity is extremely harmful to men, and is homophobic
I’m gonna get to the rest of the messages tomorrow, as I am currently very sleepy, but I just wanted to apologize for a little detail, my brain, being the retard it is, switched the word emasculate with it’s opposite, so I basically thought you were saying that it’s nice for men to get raped. Stuff like this happens to me when I’m sleepy. (And honestly, shouldn’t the word be ‘demasculate’? That’s how other English words like this work.)
mu brennz cant handle dis many logic at ounce

1. Well, cool, she said that. So? It’s wrong.
Not drinking ‘till you drop unconscious (A.K.A. drinking responsively) and dressing normally can decrease the chance of you getting raped tremendously (as explained in the original video), and really? Protect rapists?
If somebody kills a child in a car accident, because they ran across the street even when their parents told them to 999 times, it’s still the driver’s fault for driving carelessly and he/she should be punished.
HOWEVER, the kid could’ve prevented the accident by taking their parents’ word into consideration.
So, no. I’m not ‘protecting the rapist’, I think rapists should be thrown into jail for their actions. What I’m saying, time and time again, is that we can do things to minimize the chance of being raped/killed/run over by a car, no matter how small the factor, it can still help (And correct me if I’m wrong, but not dropping unconscious can be quite a handy thing when it comes to not being raped whilst in the state of unconsciousness).
2. "1% of reported rapes are committed by women."
Ughh, I don’t even know what to say here, I mean, seriously? Where are you even getting this BS from? I mean, using statistics as arguments is stupid in the first place (with maybe a few exceptions that I am not aware of), but outright pulling stuff like this out of your butt is even worse. I understand that, mainly due to cultural and religious crap, most rape victims are female, but it’s not a freaking 99:1 thing, seriously, just WHERE did you get that from?
No, it does not seem “emasculating” to be raped, quite the opposite, like I mentioned in yesterday’s response. I agree that there’s a double standard when it comes to having a lot of consensual sex, but you seriously need to have been brainwashed to believe that being raped is considered "emasculating".
I’ve seen a chunk of that documentary, and it’s your typical "Oh no, ban rape jokes and porn is bad" feminist thing. I’ve only heard like 1 or 2 rape jokes in my entire life, and honestly, who gives a shit?
People laugh at genocide, racism, pedophilia and many other terrible things. Humor is all about not taking bad stuff seriously, it helps humans cope with problems. You just need to be careful who do you tell these jokes to. ("Joke about everything, but not to everyone."). And rapes have actually become less common since porn got popular on The Internet. Quite understandable, it gave those with sexual frustrations a way to vent off.
HOWEVER, I do agree on some things. A lot of media shows women as submissive, sexual objects, just as it expects males to have authority and be strong (which is very harmful, too, people just choose to ignore that problem for some reason). I do think that we should do something about this (and by something, I mean creating consumable media pieces that break the mold, not just whine about it like a fuck), I just don’t think we should only focus on half the people just because they have vaginae, and that’s what feminism does.
If you want true equal opportunities, then there’s egalitarianism, an ideology I am proud of being a part of.
3. The culprit should, and I hope they have been held accountable for their actions, but one in 2700 is still not common. Albeit, 0,03 percent, like any amount of rape is still 100% too much for a good world, but this isn’t a good world yet, this is Earth.
As for the other incident, did the guy “fuck the shit out of her”, though? For a lot of people, College age is the peak of immaturity. Retarded assholes say stuff like this a lot of time, never really doing the deed (Though, I still think such quotes should be reported to the school’s authorities, and I hope they have been in this case.).
Not to mention, I already disproved the “1 in x women will be raped during college/their lives/whatever” thing.
4. Yes, just as it would be misogynist to “acknowledge” that virtually all cooks are women, which is simply untrue.
I mentioned earlier that I agree that most rapists are males, mainly due to stuff like religion being a stupid piece of shit that should already have died, but it’s not such an overwhelming majority as you would like to think. Since you love these statistics so much ,then why don’t check this out? 4.8% for men isn’t exactly that far from 5% for women, though I’m quite doubtful of almost all statistics like these.

Jesus Fuck, I can’t write a 5 minute thing for Polish classes, but I can write something like this in relatively fluent English? Fuck me. Can we just settle for short messages with single points in them next time?
in short, fuck tumblr’s attitudes about “grades don’t matter” and “i’m offended because someone is breathing” and “it’s cool to be apathetic and hate everything” because the world doesn’t fucking cater to you guys, you pretentious assholes who expect everything in life to be sugar coated to y’all and you’re gonna have to grow up sometime
